The library provides a number of ways to sort, filter and view your content.
The library landing page shows a list of all the content in your team’s library.
View Options
By default, the content will be shown in a table format. This can be changed to a grid with larger thumbnails by clicking on the icon in the top left of the menu bar:
In table format, clicking on a row will take you the family detail page. For more information on the information available within each family, see Family Details. Clicking on a checkbox next to a family row will select that family (see “Selecting and managing” below).
In grid format, clicking on a family thumbnail will take you to the family detail page. Clicking anywhere else on a family’s grid tile will select that family (see “Selecting and managing” below).
Sorting
In table format, the list has sortable columns for the following information:
- Family - Family name
- Manufacturer - Manufacturer parameter
- Category - Revit category
- Source - Where the family came from when it was added to the library. See Source Identification for more details.
- Revit - Earliest Revit version that the family is compatible with.
- Size - The size of the .rfa file for the family.
- By - Which team member added the family.
- Instances- Data about how many instances of the family exist in models tracked by Kinship:
- Total - Total number of instances across all models.
- Original - The percentage of model instances that have NOT been modified from the original library version.
- Projects - The number of projects in Kinship that the family has been used in.
- Updated - Last date or time that the family was updated.
To sort based on any of the columns, click on the column header. The column being used to sort will show a small arrow pointing up or down to indicate ascending or descending sort order. To change the sort order, click on the column header again.
Filtering
Above the list of content is a set of filters that you can use to reduce the number of items displayed.
Click on any filter to see a dropdown menu of its available values. Clicking on a filter value will display only items that match the selected value.
Filters are available for:
- Category - Revit category
- Manufacturer - Manufacturer parameter
- Source - Where the family came from when it was added to the library. See Source Identification for more details.
- Warnings - Any family health warnings Kinship has detected. See Warnings for more details.
