Approving Content

Modified on Wed, 18 Oct, 2023 at 4:26 PM

Approved content in the library is searchable from the Kinship add-in within Revit.

  • Families in the library can be either Approved or Unapproved.
  • Approved families will appear in search results in the Kinship add-in, while unapproved families will not be displayed.
  • Families added to the library by an Administrator or Content Manager are automatically approved.
  • Families added to the library by regular team members are marked unapproved and must be approved by an Administrator or Content Manager before they can be searched from the add-in.
  • To view only approved or unapproved families, use the Status filter at the top of the library list.Filtering on approval status

Approving and Unapproving Content in the Library

Administrators and Content Managers can approve and unapprove library content.

  1. From the Content Library page, look for the content whose approval status you want to change. See Viewing Content for help with selecting families in the library.

  2. Click on the More menu above the list and then select either Approve or Unapprove. If a status cannot be applied to any of the selected families, it will appear greyed out.Approving families
  • Note: Unapproving a family in the library does not remove any copies of the family which may exist in your collections or models in Kinship. These other copies may still appear in users' search results from Revit, though with a lower ranking than approved content in the library.
