Kinship records the source of a family when it is loaded into a model, the library or a collection, and keeps track of it during its lifetime.
When viewing a family in Kinship, the source can be viewed in different locations. The possible values for family source are:
Library - Content that has been loaded from your team’s library.
Team Collection - Content loaded from a team collection.
User Collection - Content loaded from user’s personal collection
Initial Sync - Content that was loaded into the model at the time of first SwC. Typically those would be families included in the template from which the new model was created.
Tracked Model - Content that came from a model tracked in Kinship.
Untracked Model - Content that came from a model not tracked in Kinship.
Web Download - Content downloaded from the internet and located in user’s Downloads folder.
User Files - Content loaded from an .rfa located on the user's local drive.
Network Folder - Content loaded from an .rfa in a shared network location.
3rd-Party Add-In - Content loaded with a third-party add-in other than Kinship.
OOTB - Revit OOTB (Out Of The Box) content.
OOTB Template - Content that is preloaded into Revit sample projects.
Unknown - The source could not be determined.
As an example when a family is loaded from a family file on a user’s hard disk to the library it will have a source of User Files. If that library family is added into a collection, the copy in the collection will have a source of Library as this is where this copy came from. The original source can be determined from the history of the family.
