Add content to collections from the Kinship website or from Revit using the Kinship add-in.

Adding Content from the Website

Use the website to add content from an existing source in your Kinship team, such as your library, tracked models, or even other collections.

When you add content from an existing source, you create a new copy of that content within the collection. If you later modify the original source content, this will NOT modify the content within the collection.

  1. Click on the collection to view its Contents page.
  2. Click on Add content… at the top of list of families. (Note: You must view the list in Basic or Detailed format in order to see the Add content… button.)'Add content' button
  3. A menu will appear with options for Library, Models, Projects and Collections. Source selection
  • Clicking on Library will take you to a list of your library families.
  • Clicking on the other sources will take you to a list of available models, projects or collections. Click on any model, project or collection to see its list of families.
  1. Click on a family to toggle selection on and off. Multiple families can be selected from one or multiple sources.
  2. When you’ve finished selecting all of the content you wish to add, click Done to add the selected content to the collection and return to the collection’s Contents page. (Note: If one or more of the selected families are an exact duplicate of an existing family in the collection, a screen will appear asking you to confirm your desired action.) Duplicate confirmation pop up
  • Select Skip to avoid re-adding the duplicate content to the collection.
  • Select Overwrite to replace the existing family with the new one.
  • Select Duplicate to create another copy of the family. Duplicate families will appear with a number in brackets after the name.
  • Note: If there are multiple duplicates found, the selected action will be applied to all of them.
