Kinship has an application which runs in the background and works with the add-in to communicate with the Kinship website.
Kinship Service Application
The Kinship service application will normally start up when your computer starts and run in the background. You can see if it is running as the Kinship icon will be in the system tray, which is normally on the lower right of your screen. If you hover your mouse over the icon it will display the version number of the Kinship app.
Left clicking on the icon brings up a small status window which includes the following information:
- The synchronization status. This will normally show Up to date but may have other messages such as Uploading data.
- The Kinship website to which the application is connected.
- A link to the Kinship website. Clicking on this will open the landing page for your Kinship website and automatically log you in.
Right clicking on the icon displays a menu:
- In the top area it shows your Kinship login account along with any other accounts that you have registered.
- Typically you would only have one account.
- If you do have multiple accounts you can switch between them by clicking on the account name in the menu. NOTE: when you do this please restart any Revit sessions that you have open.
- You can sign in as another team which will allow you to register a new user. Clicking this will display a window so that you can go through the registration process, as described in the installation instructions.
Open Kinship.io - opens the Kinship website and logs you in.
Exit Kinship- will close down the service application.
- You would not normally need to do this.
- The add-in will restart the application if it is required, for example if you upload content.
