Once a user is no longer actively using Kinship or leaves your organization you may want to deactivate them. This will free up their licence in Kinship for other users and also remove access to the Kinship website.

Deactivating Users

  1. Navigate to the Browse Members page.
  2. Select the user or users to deactivate.
  • If only one user is being deactivated, you can click on the three-dots menu and select Deactivate Team MemberDeactivate One user
  • If you would like to deactivate multiple users, click on the Edit button in the top right of the page, select the users you would like to deactivate and then click on the deactivate menu item:Deactivate many user

  • Deactivating a user will have the following effects:
    • Immediately remove the user’s access to the Kinship website and log them out of any current session.
    • If the user attempts to log-in to the Kinship site they will be taken to a page telling them that they have been deactivated.Deactivation notice
    • When the user starts a new Revit session the Kinship add-in will only perform local searches on their current model.
    • A Kinship licence will become available, see licensing for a more information on Kinship licensing.

  • When a user is deactivated all the administrators for that Kinship account will receive a notification email, similar to the one below:Deactivation email

  • You can find a list of the deactivated users at the bottom of the Team Members page. Clicking on the See All will bring you to the Deactivated Members page:Deactivate users
