You can set your preferences for your time zone and what format you would like to see dates in.
Setting your time zone
The default setting for this is for Kinship to automatically detect your time zone and set it accordingly. Kinship finds which time zone you are in from your browser and updates the value every time you login.
It will depend on your browser, but typically the browser does not have its own time zone setting and takes this from Windows.
If you wish to change the setting you can manually set it to another value from the dropdown listbox.
Setting your date format
Kinship has two ways to display dates. These are:
- Relative and Standard - in this mode, recent dates will be displayed using more natural, relative terms such as Yesterday or Monday where the meaning is clear, while older dates will be shown in standard format.
- Standard Only - all dates are displayed in the standard format. This format depends on your Locale setting
Setting your locale
Kinship uses your locale to decide how to display dates.
- US English - MM/DD/YY for example 31 January 2020 is 01/31/20
- UK English - DD/MM/YY for example 31 January 2020 is 31/01/20
Once you have made your changes click Cancel or the cross in the top right to exit without saving changes or Save to save changes and exit.
