Introduction
The default action for models when they are first SwC'ed with Kinship is to ask the user whether to track in Kinship or not. Model Sync Rules can be used to manage this automatically as described in the documentation. This document describes how to set a catch-all rule to handle any models which do not match the other rules you have set up.
Overview
The Model Sync Rules are evaluated from the top down and the first rule that matches is applied. When a rule matches the evaluation stops and no further rules are considered. If no rules match Kinship will fall back to the default behaviour, which is to ask the user. If a rule is set as the last rule in the table which matches "*" [asterisk] then this will catch all models which have not matched with any of the earlier rules. This rule can be set to Never or Auto public depending on your preference. Below is a sample with the final rule set to Never.
As a note administrators can override Model Sync Rules so this will still allow an administrator to choose to add a model that is not matched by a rule to Kinship, as described in KB00013.
