Reporting Search Issues

Modified on Thu, 4 Dec, 2025 at 12:20 PM

Kinship uses intelligent algorithms to search for content in the current model and in the website. However if the add-in does not return the results that you expect you can notify us directly from the Revit UI.

Kinship will search within your model and through the website to find the family that you are looking for but if you believe that Kinship is not returning the correct results to you can open a case with Kinship directly from the Revit UI.

With the search box open showing the results of your search, hit F12. This will open a dialog box where you can enter a message for our development team.

Please include details about what you were searching for including the following details:

  1. Name of the family you were looking for
  2. URL of the family as listed in your Team library:
    1. Go to your kinship team website,
    2. Navigate to the family
    3. Copy the URL to the comments section of the report

Bogus search results

The application will automatically gather environmental information and submit a case for you in the Kinship support system.
